Sick and Sadistic Humor

"Tragedy is when I cut my finger. Comedy is when you fall into an open sewer and die."
~Mel Brooks

At some point in everyone's life they experience the hilarity of someone injuring themselves and although it's not funny, you can't help but laugh. However, if it happens to you, it is not funny and no one else is allowed to laugh either. It seems sometimes my life is full of tragedy and comedic acts, and no matter how funny to someone else. I just can't seem to always laugh.

Mel Brooks and I share this unique sick sense of humor. We also share our height which is a convenient five feet five inches. Another similarity I foun was that his first born daughter and I share the same name with a similar spelling hers just has an E on the end.
Brooks is well known for his movies and productions. He also belongs to a discreet list of entertainers that have won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony award. As if that isn't enough his wife Anne Bancroft and their son Max Brooks have also won Emmys.
Although he has written many of the musical attributes for his movies, he doesn't actually play any musical instrument. For a man who creates complex melodies for his prodctions his favorite composition is a simple one; Yankee Doodle Dandee. This may come from his younger years when he was in the Army. It seems he excels rather quickly at many things he attemptsbecuase after only being in the Army for one year he was promoted to Corporal. I completely understand how difficult this task is because my father was in the Navy for years and never received a promotion.
Brooks' military achievements aside, music has been a driving force throughout his life. His running gag "walk this way" actually inspired the hit song by Aerosmith of the same name. He also stimulated a 1981 hip hop dance based upon his rap "It's Good to be the King" from History of the World Part One. Since I used to sing and dance I have a great appreciation for music. I also understand how hard it is to create choreography to give the impression you want with music, thus my great respect for this man. He never let his dreams die for anything! So my audience go into your lives and start rolling... Lights, Camera, Action!

You did a great job Stef I know that with this quote it means that you don't always take life too seriously and sometimes everyone needs to laugh just a little so they don't become like the government and have their heads up their butts.
